Why this Segment
There is so much uncertainty in the world right now and we all need inspiration. A deep understanding through reflection is the only way we as humans can evolve. To do this, we want to uncover and share small moments of self-reflection that have transformed how people work.
I want to hear from you if you have a story to share that has profoundly impacted your growth and development, particularly with how you work or lead.
IMPORTANT: This is about you as a leader, what obstacles you faced that made you reflect, and who you are personally. This segment is not about where you currently work or your formal job. Please do not mention the company you work for, as, again, this is to elevate your personal voice. This is not a paid podcast opportunity; it is an opportunity to be highlighted and promoted as an individual leader.

- Inspire and motivate other leaders to reflect on their own experiences and insights
- Potentially be featured on our podcast, reaching a broader audience
Get Started Today! Here is how to submit your story for consideration:
Step 1: Reflect - Think about a time when:
- You received feedback that challenged the way you think
- You faced a difficult experience that taught you a valuable lesson
- You were showed kindness and compassion, and it made a lasting impact
- You learned something new that changed the way you operate
- ... perhaps there was a different type of pivotal moment not listed above - that's okay too!
This moment that changed things does not have to have happened at work, but it does need to transcend into the way you work and/or lead at work.
Step 2: Record your audio segment
- (3-5 minutes) in length of an audio-only recording
- You can use your cell phone's standard voice recording app (m4a or mp3 format)
- Be your authentic self and tell us your story as if we were alone just getting to know each other - we're going for a natural, authentic tone.
Step 3: Follow this 4-step format when recording
(please do not read the questions when recording instead, cover each item when telling your story)
- What is your name and your field of work? (Example:"My name is Colleen Jenkins. I’m a People & Culture leader and advocate for positive change." - you don't have to share your formal job title - please do not include your company's name).
- What was the moment you experienced, and what made it so significant?
- How did it make you feel, and what did you learn?
- How has this experience influenced your approach to leadership and/or work?
Note: Perhaps this moment was when you were young, and it significantly impacted who you are today and how you work. We are exploring the concept of deep self-reflection and how small moments change our work behavior. We want to understand how personal experiences led to self-awareness and how these experiences made you more aware of how you impact the world around you. We're not looking for you to coach others; we're asking for you to share how you have personally evolved and through what process.
The goal is to use your recording to inspire others... be confident, inspiring and authentically you!
Step 4: Send the recording
- Email the recording (audio format m4a or mp3) to [email protected]
- Include your full name in the email body and your personal LinkedIn URL
Step 5: Hear back from us
- A real person vets this process, so please be patient.
- I will not use your recording without contacting you.
- If your recording is selected, I will email you the next steps (from [email protected]). I will not contact you from any other email address, so be aware of scammers.
Here is what to expect if your recording is chosen to share:
- You'll receive an email (from [email protected]) letting you know that your recording was selected, and I will obtain explicit written consent from you to use it.
- I'll ask you a few questions to build a biography and will feature you on the Humility Resources website and LinkedIn network.
- You will receive a social media kit to share the news with your network, including the date your episode will air.

- Alignment with the theme: Does your story strongly connect to how moments of self-reflection have transformed how you lead and work?
- Uniqueness & Insight: We want to hear stories that offer fresh perspectives or valuable insights for our community of modern leaders.
- Emotional Resonance: A compelling narrative with relatable experiences will engage listeners more deeply.
We'll also evaluate your story based on its clarity, structure, and authenticity. Does it flow well? Are you engaging and genuine in your storytelling? Ultimately, we want to select stories that are insightful and inspiring, leaving our listeners with a sense of motivation and possibility.
Tone Reminder: We ask that you listen to Humility Resources to understand the tone of our work. (Episodes are only about 10 minutes each). While we're not asking you to include any behavioral research, neuroscience or otherwise in your recording, we are looking for a story that may help inspire our community of modern leaders to think a new way or deeply reflect.
